Water Monitoring – Piave Vecchia River

In May 2025, we conducted a comprehensive monitoring campaign on the Piave Vecchia River to assess its trophic state and overall water quality. Activities included water sampling with a Niskin bottle for laboratory analysis of nutrients and chemical parameters, and in situ profiling with a multiparameter probe measuring conductivity, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and redox potential.

To complement the chemical and physical data, an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) was deployed to measure water velocity and calculate the river’s flow rate. The integrated dataset provides a detailed picture of both the river’s ecological status and its hydrodynamic behavior, supporting sustainable water resource management.
